Dona Jane Huggins, Ph.D.

Dr. Huggins is a member of the faculty of the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology at Drexel University. She has taught online toxicology courses for the last 6 years and her students have come from a number of diverse backgrounds including the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and medical industries. Her teaching strategy includes developing a strong understanding of the basic principles of toxicology which can then be utilized effectively in many different occupational settings. Dr. Huggins is certified by the American Board of Toxicology and, prior to coming to Drexel University, worked for ten years as a consultant in toxicology to corporations in the greater New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia areas.

George J. Lopez

Mr. Lopez has 35 years of experience in the fields of analytical chemistry, industrial hygiene, and environmental science. A graduate of Drexel University, Mr. Lopez went on to become head of the Occupational Safety and Health Monitoring Division at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. In that position, he managed twelve industrial hygiene technicians in their performance of exposure monitoring during a large variety of industrial operations. In 1989, he founded American Science & Technology, Inc., which has provided numerous industrial hygiene and safety services to government, commercial, and private sector clients. Mr. Lopez has taught environmental safety and health courses at Burlington County Community College in New Jersey and became an adjunct professor and advisor of Industrial hygiene at Drexel University in 1997. He is a member of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, American Association of Bio-analysts, and is a former president of the South Jersey Industrial Safety Council.
