Admissions Criteria
Admissions criteria to the certificate program:
- Complete application form.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the US or an equivalent international institution.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0* (graduate degree GPAs will be considered along with the undergraduate GPA).
- Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended or where coursework was attempted or taken. If you do not list all post-secondary institutions on your application and these are listed on transcripts received from other institutions, processing of your application will be delayed until you have submitted the remaining transcripts. Click here to use our Transcript Lookup Tool to assist you in contacting your previous institutions. If a college or university that you attended offers the option to send transcripts in a secure, password-protected electronic format, you may have the transcript sent to customerservice@drexel.com. Candidates who received their terminal degree outside the US and are not ECFMG certified may be required to obtain a course by course evaluation from World Evaluation Services (WES). For more information, click here: International Students.

- Two letters of recommendation (one from your immediate supervisor and one from another qualified individual who can comment on your ability to succeed in your chosen program yet is not a peer). Drexel University Online now accepts electronic letters of recommendation. Please access the following webpage for instructions regarding their submission: http://www.drexel.edu/apply/recommend. If a recommender prefers to submit an original, hard copy letter of recommendation, please remind the recommender that it must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope signed across the flap by the recommender.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- A telephone interview may be required as part of the admission process.
- International Applicants who are not ECFMG certified (as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents whose native language is not English, and who have not received a Bachelor's degree or higher in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United Kingdom) must submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 is required for the paper-based TOEFL test and 90 for the internet-based TOEFL Test. Students who earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or have worked full-time in an English-speaking country for more than two years may have this requirement waived.
- If you are an ECFMG Certified physician, please provide your ECFMG identification number with your application along with copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
