Nationally recognized for its strengths in technology and the sciences, Drexel University offers a unique internet-based Master’s Degree in Learning Technologies designed for adult learners who wish to complete their degree online, on a full or part-time basis.
The MS in Learning Technologies is designed to prepare individuals with the knowledge, skills and internship experiences to meet the challenges that schools, educational and corporate organizations face related to their technology learning needs. This online program is ideal for teachers, trainers and other educational leaders to earn the instructional technology specialist certification with a master's degree and individuals interested in leading change for meaningful technology integration.
This 45-credit program consists of 4 constructs, including:
- National and state technology standards and 21st Century skills
- Collaborative leadership
- Design perspective and digital media skill set, and
- Research projects.
Graduates of this program will be fully prepared to obtain such challenging roles as: technology coach, instructional design leader, learning coordinator, director of integrated technology, as well as positions within for-profit learning organizations, training divisions within corporations, and others.
Available concentrations include:
- PA Certification in Instructional Tech Specialist
- Instructional Technology Specialist certification is available to students that currently possess a Pennsylvania Instructional I or Instructional II teaching certificate. Students who wish to obtain the ITS Certificate but do not possess a Pennsylvania teaching certificate must successfully complete Praxis I exams.
- Learning in Game-Based Environments
- Students will be introduced to the foundation of games for learning, motivation research that influences games, learning theories and instructional design principles, the role of play and learning in a participatory culture, and design research and evaluation of learning technologies.
