What steps does someone with an international degree take to apply to the online engineering programs?

In addition to the general admissions requirements, anyone who has been born outside of the United States is required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and have an official score report (minimum score of 600 for the paper-based test or 100 for the computer-based test) sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to Drexel University before their file is evaluated.  The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will also be accepted and requires a minimum score of 7.0.

Both TOEFL and IELTS scores must be less than two years old to be considered. Information regarding the TOEFL can be obtained by contacting:

Educational Testing Service
Princeton, NJ 08541
609-921-9000, or 609-771-7100
http://www.toefl.org

In addition, international students are required to list on their application all schools attended, including primary and secondary schools. Along with your application, you must enclose official transcripts (mark sheets and degree certificates) in your native language and in English from all colleges and graduate/ professional schools that you attended. Do not send transcripts from secondary schools. If your school issues only one transcript for life, you may send a notarized photocopy, bearing the seal on each page.

Applicants are responsible for contacting World Education Service for evaluation of transcripts:

Old Chelsea Station, New York, NY 10113-0745

Applicants are responsible for supplying all necessary documentation.

Drexel does not require GRE scores for any of its online engineering programs except for the MS in Software Engineering IST track. Please note: Applicants to this program who have at least a 3.2 GPA in the last half of their undergraduate work may be eligible for admission to this program without the GRE. This decision is made by the associate dean of the college after reviewing the application.

Can students transfer credits into Drexel's online engineering programs?

Transfer credits are subject to department approval.  Students have the ability to transfer up to 15 quarter credits from other accredited colleges, but credit cannot be more than 7 years old.  The transfer credits must also cover an area of the engineering curriculum.

Transfer credits are not accepted into our certificate program, as this is a very specialized Drexel graduate level program.
