Design your own practical program of study to gain new skills

This non-degree, independent study program provides specialized training beyond the master’s program. It is intended for librarians, software engineering, information systems professionals, and specialists in related fields who wish to update their education or develop new expertise.

During this 8-course online program, you will work with a faculty advisor to design a practical program of study. Students also complete an independent study project, which integrates studies, field experiences, individual reading, and work experience.

While providing a wide range of professional opportunities, the online Advanced Certificate of Information Studies and Technology program is not researched-oriented, nor intended to provide credits that can be applied toward doctoral studies.

New students are only accepted into the program for the Fall and Spring terms. You may submit your application anytime. Apply now to reserve your position and start date.
