Admission Requirements 

In addition to any general admission requirements for your specific Drexel college of choice, if you have not received a degree in the United States, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and have an official score report sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to Drexel University before your file will be evaluated. Your TOEFL scores must be less than two years old to be considered. A TOEFL score of at least 550 is required to be considered for admission, some programs require a higher score (Please see chart below).

Sending Transcripts 

WES course-by-course evaluation is required by the iSchool Graduate Admissions Office.

Applicants are responsible for contacting World Education Service, Inc. (WES) for evaluation of transcripts and are responsible for supplying all necessary documentation.

  • Submit: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 is required for the paper test and 79 for the Internet Based Test

 

School of Nursing

RN-BSN, B.S. in Health Services Administration and Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding applicants: 

  • Submit: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 550 is required for the paper test OR TOEFL-iBT minimum combined score of 79, plus speaking section minimum score of 26.

  • International Applicants (as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents whose native language is not English, and who have not received a Bachelor's degree or higher in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United Kingdom): Submit: Test of Spoken English (TSE).

  • International Applicants, as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents must also submit evidence of licensure as a Registered Nurse in the United States. (except for the Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding)

MSN, Post-Bachelor's Certificate and Post-Master's Certificate applicants: 

  • International Applicants (as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents whose native language is not English, and who have not received a Bachelor's degree or higher in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United Kingdom) must submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Test of Spoken English (TSE). A minimum score of 550 is required for the paper test OR minimum combined score of 79,  plus speaking section minimum score of 26 for the Internet Based Test (iBT). A minimum score of 55 is required for the TSE.

  • International Applicants, as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents must also submit evidence of licensure as a Registered Nurse in the United States.

  • TOEFL minimum of 600 (paper exam) or 250 (CBT exam)/transcripts

Master of Science in Library & Information Science

  • TOEFL minimum of 600 (paper exam) or IBT minimum test score of 100

Master of Science in Information Systems

Applicants can be waived from the TOEFL if the following apply:

  • Applicant was born on a US military base OR
  • Applicant completed four years of high school AND has a high school degree from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, or Canada. [If an applicant was educated in Puerto Rico, s/he must provide proof that the high school was an English-speaking school.]

    Original transcripts are required to support the waiver request.
